Together We're Stronger
Brad Coffey Named Healthcare Charities VP

Bangor, Maine)- Brad Coffey has been promoted to vice president for Philanthropy at EMHS Healthcare Charities. In addition to overseeing major gift development and capital campaigns, Coffey is responsible for leading stewardship, and research and grant writing efforts.

Coffey joined Healthcare Charities in 2007 as director of Development and was tasked with leading capital campaign efforts for all member organizations of EMHS. Most recently, he wrapped up the highly successful Champion the Cure campaign, which led to construction of the Lafayette Family Cancer Center, home to Eastern Maine Medical’s Center’s CancerCare of Maine and the Maine Institute for Human Genetics and Health.

In announcing Coffey’s promotion, Michael Crowley, president of Healthcare Charities, said “Brad understands that philanthropy is critical for the hospitals and other healthcare providers within EMHS. He is also vested in the greater Bangor community and wants to see this area and the people who live here succeed.”

“We all want to make sure that quality and affordable healthcare is available for our family and neighbors, and that it is close to home,” said Coffey. “The work we do at Healthcare Charities plays a significant role in making sure the people of this region have what they need and that the goals of EMHS are met. I am also very fortunate to be working with some of the most talented people in Maine and doing what I love to do in a place I am proud to call home.”

Before joining Healthcare Charities, Coffey worked as a planned giving officer at the University of Maine Foundation, in private practice in Bangor as a lawyer for Farrell, Rosenblatt, & Russell, as-well-as with Mitchell & Stearns. He serves on various boards of non-profit organizations in greater Bangor, and regularly volunteers through the Bangor Y Leaders School, Phillips-Strickland House, and the Bangor youth soccer and basketball programs.

Coffey and his wife, Elizabeth, have three children and live in Bangor.
